Gen Ken Montgomery

is a seminal figure in the movement of self-taught sound artists that emerged in the 1980’s, recording and producing homemade cassettes and records as art objects. He established the Generator Sound Art gallery in New York in 1989 and has continued to reconfigure this ongoing project in many forms over the years. Gen Ken’s performance for amplified lamination machine with belly dancer Andrea Beeman made the front page of the 'St. John’s Telegraph' when he performed at the 2004 Sound Symposium in Newfoundland.
