HALLICRAFTERS

are Eric Hubel and Algis Kizys.
Eric Hubel, a Boston native, studied acoustics, composition and electronic music at Bennington college with Gunner Schonbeck and Joel Chadebe and Milford Graves. Upon graduation in 1982, He moved to NYC into a flourishing hardcore punk and experimental music scene.Joining forces with members of the beastie boys, he cofounded the band "big Fat Love". In 1986 he joined the Glenn Branca Ensemble and has since been a core member and section leader recording and touring for over twenty years. Other projects included Wider, Foetus, Inc., John Meyers' Blastula, Phil Kline, Of Cabbages and Kings, Soraya Rashid, Jehad City White Devils, and American Ambulance.
In 1995–6 he collaborated With Helmet’s Page Hamilton, and, working under the direction of composer Elliot Goldenthal,
recorded music for the films "Heat" and Neil Jordan's "In Dreams".
More recently he has worked with Jonathan Bepler, Matthew Barney, Eve Sussman, and Bradford Reid. He is currently a member of The Wharton Tiers Ensemble, Auora 23, Hi Way Stars, N.O.M.A.H., and the sonic force "Hallicrafters" with Algis Kizys. Eric lives and Works in Brooklyn.
Algis Kizys, a native Chicagoan and naive Brooklynite, has collaborated with Problem Dogs, Bag People, Death (nyc version), Swans, Foetus, Inc., Die Warzau, Pigface, Glenn Branca, Of Cabbages and Kings, The Hallicrafters, Th.wig, A/N, Saraya Rashid, Lydia Lunch with Nels Kline, Carla Bozulich. With Jonathan Bepler and David Thorpe on the soundtrack for Gus Van Zant's "Finding Forrester" and Nerve.com's "Sweet and Vicious". With Jonathan Bepler on Eve Sussman's "The Rape of the Sabine Women", and an experimentation for an opera with Mathew Barney. Currently playing with Norman Westberg and Vinny Signorelli in "NeVAh", a rock and roll trio from new york.
